Speaking as the voice inside his own head, conflicted by the clear obsessive lengths he goes to for the sake of his art and his career, the track balances introspective lyrics with the excellent vocal stylings and crisp mix.
“Head Start” by Drew Schueler is a singer-songwriter masterpiece that left me speechless. I had to pause the song because it brought back so many emotional memories for me - and that's the sign of a truly great song.
After years of laying the groundwork, Drew Schueler is at the top of his game in 2023. On September 18th, Drew landed his first major label cut with massive SM Entertainment Kpop star D.O. (of EXO), writing his new lead single and title track "Somebody". In the first 8 days, the song accumulated 2.5 million views on the music video, 2.8 million streams on Spotify and the album has sold 160,000 units already. The song debuted #1 on iTunes in 25 countries and is currently #84 on the Top 100 charts in Korea, just over a week since it was released.
